Measured Energy Performance accurately measures the energy efficiency performance of a property.
Whereas an Energy Performance Certificate uses assumed values to calculate an energy performance rating, Measured Energy Performance uses multiple data points, including temperature, weather and energy readings to give a true indication of how a property performs. This information is presented in a detailed report with further recommendations on how to improve the energy efficiency of your housing stock and provide warmer homes for tenants.
What can’t be measured can’t be managed, especially if it has been calculated using incorrect assumptions.
A measured Energy Performance Report can help you effectively examine, measure and manage your properties, and create better performing homes for tenants who are especially susceptible to social and economic pressures such as fuel poverty.
Verify the energy efficiency rating of your properties.
Provide warmer homes for tenants.
Accurately measure the energy performance of properties before and after retrofit and ECO works.
Discover underperforming property types.
Identify cost-effective energy efficiency measures.
Unlike other co-heating tests, Measured Energy Performance can be performed at a fraction of the price, with little disruption and with the occupiers in-situ.
One of our trained and accredited assessors will perform an energy assessment for the property and place small temperature sensors around the dwelling (usually on a book shelf or cupboard). After a three week period, the temperature sensors will be collected, along with relevant energy meter readings. This information is combined with other data points to produce a Measured Energy Performance report to give a true indication of how your property performs and how it compares to the calculated SAP/ EPC score.
Elmhurst Energy Consultancy has over 25 years’ experience providing high quality energy performance analyses for the built environment.
